Present Continuous tense describes actions that are happening now. Now can be in the present moment, or in the general present, or at a future time.
RIGHT NOW:
What are you doing right now?
I am practicing my English verbs.
THE GENERAL PRESENT:
What are they doing today?
They are shopping today.
Where are you working these days?
I'm working at a restaurant.
AT A FUTURE TIME
What are you doing tonight? We are eating dinner at 7:00 tonight.
When are you going on vacation?
We're going on vacation in July.
Present Continuous and Present Simple
Present Simple describes actions that happen regularly. They happen in the general present.
I work from 7:00am to 3:00pm.
We live in Boston.
The bus comes at 1:25 pm.
